Interactive Maps

The interactive maps were designed to educate the public about the locations and designations of the Indian River Lagoon spoil islands. It is up to the public to observe and respect the designations set forth by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

Through aerial photos this section provides maps of all the spoil islands in the Indian River Lagoon throughout the four counties in which they occur; Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin.

Instructions:

-From the "Interactive Maps" drop-down menu choose the County of interest.

-Then click on the area of the photo that the spoil island of interest is located in. This will take you to a regional map of the islands (see "Sample Map" below). Each spoil island is labeled with its corresponding name and designation.

-Individual spoil island maps can be accessed for all Active and Passive islands, by clicking on it's corresponding name which will be highlighted in yellow.

-You can also find out what each spoil island designation means by simply clicking on it
